As Chief Operating Officer, Harry Byerly helms the payroll, benefits, and administration operations at HiHR — if it involves our customers, Harry is dedicated to and involved with ensuring the highest level of service. A senior-level executive and a member of the HIHR management team, Harry brings more than thirteen years of management, recruitment, marketing, and customer service experience. Harry’s breadth of experience complements his steadfast personal and professional tenacity, providing clients with unmatched attention, service, and care.
Before coming to The Hawaii Group, Harry led the strategic marketing and recruiting efforts for Hawaii Pacific University’s Graduate and Executive Education programs, managing a team of professionals based in Hawaii, California and Massachusetts. In addition to serving in several key leadership roles in advertising, enrollment management, and IT services, Harry managed the day-to-day operations of HPU’s Graduate Service Center, serving more than 1500 students and adult learners, working diligently to employ a best-practices approach to service and customer satisfaction. During his 11-year tenure at Hawaii Pacific University, Harry developed an extensive professional network in Hawaii, Asia, and on the mainland. Furthermore, Harry served on the Board of Directors and as the national conference chair for the largest professional organization of graduate marketing and recruiting professionals in the US, and more recently worked at a very large HR outsourcing and PEO firm in Hawaii, helping to grow the company’s nonprofit and professional services clientele.
Harry started with us at The Hawaii Group as the Vice President of HiEmployment, bringing a wealth of knowledge and recruiting experience to the team before moving to HiHR. Harry’s personal, committed approach to his work extends to local philanthropy — he currently serves on the Hawaii governance council for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and previously held positions as President on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii and the Life Foundation.
